Look that mobiles have infinite uses for practically any task that we imagine but there is one, which is the document and photo scanner, that we often forget. And we ended up looking for a friend who we know has a multipurpose printer and can help us scan a couple or three of sheets. With the cameras that smartphones currently carry, and some magic thanks to graphic editors, these multipurpose equipment is no longer necessary to achieve practically perfect scans of any document we need. And although Google already had one for Android, it has decided to launch another that is even more complete. Not in playback quality, but in smart add-on features. Security and artificial intelligence The idea that Google has had is very simple: is it possible to add a layer of security to the digitization of documents that we can do with the mobile? The answer, obviously, is yes, and that has been done with a new application that they have published in the Play Store, Stack, allowing us to protect all those sensitive documents that sometimes we need to store permanently on the phone so that, as long as we want it , no one can see them. To achieve this objective, what Google has designed is nothing other than the possibility of protecting those scans with the biometric sensor that we have in the smartphone: fingerprint or scan of our face in those models that have a kind of integrated Face ID. Thus, when we make a digital duplicate of a sensitive document, a DNI or any other important card or card, nobody will be able to open it even if they receive it, which is a break when it comes to such important information. But the news is not there. In addition to that extra peace of mind in the scans that we do, Google has thought that it would be good to have an intelligence that watches everything to avoid the work of ordering everything that we digitize. In this way, the new Google application is able to categorize everything we scan based on content, sending what are invoices or receipts to a specific and different section of, for example, house accounting, car expenses or the identification documents that we carry with us. According to Google, this artificial intelligence allows us, in the personal and professional sphere, to extract data from the documents themselves and keep accounts up to date, store expenses, update bank statements and any other task that we can entrust thanks to its ability to read within what we digitize. Even schedule expiration of receipts, services, etc. and let us know when the time comes. Currently only available in the US.
