Google Photos already offers 'premium' options: new filters for Google One subscribers

Google Photos recently confirmed that it would add ‘premium’ editing options to its app, and it’s available now: editor includes portrait light and blur (bokeh) that until now could only be used by owners of a Google Pixel. Only available to Photos users with a Google One plan.

One of the most famous and widely used Android apps is on the way to significantly restricting its free use: with the end of unlimited storage at the end of May 2021, those who use Google Photos to save their mobile roll will have only 15 GB at their fingertips . Everything for boost Google One plans; movement to which the last adjustments entered in the Photo editor are added. What do you want better portraits? Subscribe to a Google plan.

Googe Photos Effects

Until now, Google Pixel owners enjoyed a photo editor that, apart from cropping tools, automatic enhancement and manual adjustments, Google also included a couple of exclusive tools for editing portraits: lighting and blur. Both achieve a professional effect thanks to the company’s AI. And it is excellent news that they are available to almost anyone.

Those who are subscribed to a Google One plan, which starts in the 1.99 euros for the 100 GB, Pixel editing tools are already at your fingertips in your Google Photos. Both can be found in the image editor, within the ‘Adjust’ options. Just go to said editor for Google Photos to highlight the two new options with an orange dot.

No need to update the Google Photos app for portrait light and blur to appear – Google enables them remotely as long as the account being used has a Google One subscription. In fact, this promotion is already reflected in the ‘Advantages’ section of Google One. If you have contracted extra storage with Google, take the opportunity to apply the new effects to your portraits: they get an almost magical lighting.
