Expected aboard a mysterious Xiaomi smartphone, we knew very little about the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 SoC, but thanks to an infographic that appeared online, we now finally have a more complete picture of the next mid-range chip from the American giant.
Codename Qualcomm SM7350, the Snapdragon 775 is a candidate as a successor to the excellent SoC 765 of the last generation and the time for its release is now ripe, especially after the market entry of the exceptional Snapdragon 888 flagship and the launch of the high-end Snapdragon 870 5G chip.
The first rumors spoke of a 5-nanometer chip with Cortex-A78 architecture. The new data seems to confirm this information and highlight the presence of the Kryo 6xx CPU, as well as a long compatibility list.
The Snapdragon 775 will have full support for 2400 MHz LPDDR4X and 3200 MHz LPDDR5 memory, as well as UFS 3.1 HS Gear 4 storage.
Regarding the photographic sector, the Spectra 570 photo processor will enable support for 4K recording at 60 FPS, coordination of three 28 megapixel sensors simultaneously, and 30 FPS recording with two sensors up to 60 + 20 megapixels.
On the connectivity front, we have support for WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, LTE and 5G mmWave. The audio sector will instead be managed by the WCD9380 and WCD9385 chips.
On paper it is a very marked generational leap, but only the field test will reveal its real performance.
