A man in his 30s and woman in her late 20s are due in court in County Tipperary this evening charged in connection with a half a million Euro fraud on Dublin Zoo two years ago.

€511,000 was redirected from the Zoo’s accounts in three different frauds in November and December 2017.

Officers from the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau, along with officers in Cabra and Clonmel stations  commenced an investigation and over €360,000 was recovered.

The man and the woman, who are from Pakistan and Latvia, were arrested today and charged with money laundering and deception.

They are due before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court this evening.
