WhatsApp, 'Vacation mode' is coming to ignore chats and relax

The WhatsApp beta continues to show new unpublished features arriving in the messaging service in the coming months: if in the beta for Android, renewed icons have appeared for Audio, Camera, Gallery and Position together with new animations for the stickers, now the protagonist is the Vacation mode.

WABetaInfo already a year ago announced the arrival of this mode in the beta 2.19.101, but around February 2020 it seemed to have disappeared from the scene or left aside to focus on other features. In the latest version it is back by surprise, allowing users to leave the chats stored in their special section even if new messages arrive: there will be a new dedicated section that allows you to show notifications or not, or even to automatically hide inactive chats after six months.

According to WABetaInfo WhatsApp will also introduce other options in the future to manage these archived chats, including the ability to select how long it takes to automatically archive them.

But this Vacation mode is not the only novelty: in the latest beta WhatsApp has decided to implement new guidelines for perfectly aligning texts, emojis and stickers to images, videos and GIFs. Among the other innovations expected by users are the synchronization between chats of the same account on multiple Android and iOS devices, but also the Multi-background function seen in the beta of WhatsApp Messenger for Apple smartphones.
