Just a few from the announcement of the new remodeling of WIndTre, news arrives that AGCOM has decided to sanction the telephone operator and Vodafone for some contractual changes included in the conditions of promotions in the past.
Specifically, WindTre was fined at the conclusion of an inter that kicked off last August 2020 following some reports from users, who complained about the introduction of some contractual changes that led to the addition of a extra cost of 4 Euros per month in the New Basic plan of some customers. The checks carried out by the authority led to the discovery that the offers involved were Wind1, Wind Easy, Pre Wind 12 2011, Wind 12, Easy Wind 5 euro, Wind 12 2011, Wind Basic, Wind Senza Snap, Wind per Second, Wind per second -1 euro, Super Without Release 2011, Be Wind New Euro 5 + 5, Be Wind New 5 euro. The same remodeling notification was also reported by ex-Tre users, in September 2020, who received a similar additional charge of 4 Euros.
The aspect that led to the reports is represented by the fact that the 4 Euros were charged in the form of a monthly charge in a similar way to a subscription, although it was a pay-as-you-go SIM.
Fine also for Vodafone, in this case for the introduction of some fixed costs on a pay-as-you-go SIM, equal to 5 Euros, which came into force in July 2019 for some subscription contracts.
Following the users ‘reports, AGCOM challenged the telephone operator for adding a “contract novation” which altered the nature of the users’ signed contracts and which cannot be traced back to a remodeling.
