The new Xiaomi Mi 11 finally yes it will include the charger in the box. During its presentation in China a few weeks ago, the company confirmed that the Mi 11 arrived without a charger included. However, during the global announcement they have turned their strategy around. The new Mi 11 will come with a charger and will in fact include a 55W fast charger and gallium nitride (GaN).
For the Chinese version, Lei Jun, founder and CEO of Xiaomi, explained that 350,000 users had opted for the version without a charger. A figure that represented only 6% of the first reservations. With these low data, the company seems to have taken note and has finally decided not to opt for the version without a charger as a standard option.
Xiaomi takes advantage of the return of the charger to promote the fast charging of the Mi 11
During the presentation, Xiaomi herself has joked about the inclusion of the charger. Xiaomi explains that they do not include an 18W charger like the ones most of us have at home, but they do choose to offer a 55W one, much less common.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 is compatible with 55 W fast charging, 50 W wireless charging and 10 W reversible charging. They have also not missed the opportunity to compare themselves to the iPhone 12, with a less fast charge and pointing out that it comes without a charger. Curiously, Xiaomi copied Apple’s idea originally but has decided to backtrack on the global version.
The environmental reason that was initially given to defend the non-inclusion of the charger has not been named. Lei Jun wondered if “there is a better solution between industry practice and environmental protection.” These doubts have for the moment been omitted.
